News of Note

Chaplain Partnership is pleased to announce that Howard Chavalia has joined its Administrative Staff as the new Director of Development and Community Relations, effective March 19, 2014. A former member of the Board of Directors and a past president of the agency, Howard brings a great understanding of the organization and a sincere appreciation of its mission. Recently, Howard retired after 33 years as a representative for Thrivent Financial. He and his wife, Dawn, will be celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary this October. The father of two sons and grandfather of three, Howard resides in Elyria. Welcome aboard, Howard, and best wishes for every success!

The Ladies Auxiliary is rebuilding! In recent years, congregation membership had dwindled and new members were needed to continue the Auxiliary’s mission of supporting the ministry of Chaplain Partnership’s chaplains. We are pleased to announce that several volunteers have stepped forward, offering their time and talents to transition into leadership roles.

We sincerely thank all of the ladies, past and present, and in particular Miriam Bohning, retiring Auxiliary President, for their many dedicated years of service to Chaplain Partnership. The next meeting of the Auxiliary will be held on Thursday, August 7 at 10:30 A.M. at the Lutheran Family Services Building, 4100 Franklin Blvd. Please join us!

It is with sincere appreciation that we say “thank you” to outgoing Board members Bob Becker, Gloria Pickett and Nancie Smith. Your dedication and service to Chaplain Partnership will be missed. Thank you, again, for your support.

And now, a hearty welcome to new Board members Luisa Barone Gantt, Rev. Don Beaumont, Sam Jakabcic and Tammy Smith. These individuals bring unique talents to the Board, continuing the tradition of strong leadership and commitment. We look forward to your involvement. Welcome!
